Product shape modeling |
CADCEUS standard functions provide powerful
shape modeling such as automatic transition from surface to solid, application
of draft angles and shape modification by taking shrink rate into accout.
Shelling function which enables to create variable thickness body is also provided. |
Parting and splitting |
MoldDesign capabilities are provided natural
die design process in mind. After the completion of product shape modeling, the
first die design process could be subtraction of the product shape from a die block.
It is easily obtained by the use of hybrid set operation. Then the remaining block
is subdivided into cavity and core with respect to parting surface. This is also
easily obtained by the use of hybrid set operation. It is necessary to further
subdivide blocks into pieces in view of forming or machining problems which is
also easily dealt with by MoldDesign. |

- Shrink rate (constant, xyz variable) application
- Parting surface creation |
- Undercut detection
- Factorization into pieces (cavity/core and slide, etc.)
- Collar creation |

Creation of runner, gate and electrode |
They can be easily created by using special purpose commands. |

- Straight electrode
- Tapered electrode
- Recovery of electrode hole |
Mold base |
MoldDesign enables variable reprentation of Mold
bases by the effective use of parametric functions. |
| - Input parameters through a dialog box |
- Futaba mold base is registered.
- It is also possible to register user's own mold bases. |

Slide design |
Use of sketch enables 2D like design of slides. |
Cooling pipe design |
Collision free cooling pipe design is possible.
It is easy to modify cooling pipe position by using 2D sketch. (strong association
of sketch and 3D model) |
