Highlights of the coming version (Updated Oct. 15, 2003)

Major Enhancements of

CADCEUS 5R1-6 , Mold V4.3 and PressV3.2

Major enhancements of these versions of software are stability improvements and the following new or revised capabilities.

1. CADCEUS 5R1-6

Category

Capabilities

1. License

(1) A USB connector is available for CADCEUS license as well as a serial port connector.
(2) C/BASIC license must be set up to a license connector.
2. Database

(1) Origin concordance is available in [Copy From Other WS] command.
(2) No change option of lower object name is available in case of change of 
    projection sheet name in [MDF-ATR] command.
3. Display

 Texture mapping quality of OpenGL is improved. So visibility of surface distortion is
 improved.
4. Parametric

(1) [History relation] command is released.
(2) [Condition express appraisal mode] command is released.
(3) Extended animation command with interpolation between steps is released.
    (It needs new license. Functionality of the command is limited to current one without
     the license.)
5. Sketch

(1) Display of all restraint conditions at one time is available
(2) Restraint marks are changed.
(3) Change of dimension name is available.
(4) Option of [real line length] or [horizontal length] is available
    in case of definition of dimension.
6. Modeler

(1) Automatic creation of dimension is available.
    One plane is specified as a measurement datum.  
    The dimensions will be created between lines and the datum on the drawing sheet.
(2) Extraction of outermost enclosure curve is available.
    This command automatically extracts outermost exclosure edges from a composite 
    surface and group the edges.
7. Drawing

(1) Attachment of Tolerance on reference dimension is possible.
(2) When a note is created, output port will be decided automatically.
8. CAM

(1) Display of attachment on NC path is available.
(2) Display of shank and holder is available in tool display command.
(3) Tapered radius tool is available in tool definition command.
(4) Addition or delete of path is available in simple NC specification of Machining process
     definition command.
(5) New contour boundary, new contour offset, new contour spiral are available.
(6) Corner R, specification of passing points and specification of pitch by section lines
    are available in new scan command.
(7) Specification of path direction and recognition of remaining material 
    after processing by large diameter tool are available in auto boundary command, 
(8) Addition of interpolation curve  is available in Auto corner command.
9. Data exchange

(1) Exchange of assembly information, external names of solid, coordinates, etc. are
    available in C/DirectTranslators.
(2) Default values of exchange options can be defined in an external file for
    C/DirectTranslators.

2. Mold Design V4.2

Category

Capabilities

1. Layers list

- This command assigns a layer value to figure elements (assembly) to give
 a name to layer group, gathers related layer assemblies as a layer group
 and controls display the on/off depending on setting.

2. User-defined E-pin placement plane

- This command defines or changes placement plane, stroke etc. for user
 defined ejector pins and user defined ejector sleeves.

3. Change parts placement

- "Change parts placement" is newly released by modifying "Move Standard
 Parts", one of the changing function for standard parts.
- This command rotates user-defined parts and system standard parts.
 (Adjustment (modification) of placement distance is allowed for user-
 defined parts.)
 At the same time rotation function is removed from "Move Standard Parts",
 the command is limited to movement function.

4. Import part number

- As for a parts list created by "Output CSV file", the parts list can 
 be edited by Excel and can be read into the system to update the list.
 This function comes from the consideration that the object and method
 of part number management are different user by user.

5. Part drawing auto dimension/Part drawing hole annotation/Hole position center dimension

- Dimensions are automatically created for holes on the sheet (circles 
 on top, front and side view) after creating parts drawings by 
 "Parts drawing" command.
- This command can also create notes from machining attributes of the 
 hole.

6. Hole suppress

- This command simultaneously changes all logs of making holes into 
 "Suppress" for system standard parts, user standard parts, runners and
 gates.

7. Check gap collision

- This command checks interference of parts.

8. Check cut hole on user-defined parts

- This command checks whether Holing has been done or not for specified
 part.

9. Check hole bottom

- This command checks the coincidence of bottom shape of a hole and the
 hole type of its hole machining attribute.

10. Assembly number/Create assembly diagram

- This command creates a chart to check errors in insertion of ejector 
 pins at mold die assembly in case the pins have similar type and size 
 each other and number of pins are many.

3. Press Design V3.2

1. Change of Family name

- The target object can be regenerated by the specified family name.

2. Title column

- Title column can be customized by the specification in an external file.

- The command fills gaps in solids.

9. Modeling

- Following commands are added to the trimming blade commands.

  PF offset curve

  Making of batch of trim blade / Cutlery verification
  Making of batch of trim blade / Article of cast metal blade substance making

10. Connection of PF Curves

- Connecting two or more single curves and making one curve within given allowance.

11. Placing plane

- Creates an offset shape by giving a bottom plane.

12. Place point

- Placing of a point at a specified position.

13. Interference inspection

- Interference between specified shapes are checked.





Major Enhancements of

CADCEUS V6.4 (incl. MoldDesign and PressDesign)

Major enhancements of these versions of software are stability improvements and the following new or revised capabilities.

1. CADCEUS V6.4

Category

Capabilities

1. Installation

- During installation, the system will check the type of OS.
  If OS is Windows NT4, the system will output message to check if the installation
  should be done or not.

2. Database

- In the layer list, the layers will be indicated where elements
  in current object structure exists.

3. Interface

(1) It is made possible to terminate commands, which required
    CANCEL button or ~ button, by CACEL operation such aseESCfkey push
    or clicking right button of the mouse. 
(2) When commands need key-in input such as coordinate value input, etc, the cursor will
    be automatically moved to key-in area.
(3) It is enabled to customize the system so that 'ENTER' key-in promotes to the next
    item input at the time of character string input in dialog box. 
(4) Operation with shift key is regarded as pick operation.
(5) The trouble after the executing of ScreenCopy is resolved. 

4. Display

(1) The mode of "element color" "bright display" is now newly 
    provided for applying to the sketch elements under edition.
    Sketch elements under edition is easier to distinguish which 
    leads to efficient operation.
(2) Sub_coordinate system creation commands are improved where temporary figure
    of revised coordinate axis is automatically changed for any parameter input.
    This eases confirmation of sub_coordinate system to be created.
(3) Display efficiency of WS pallet is improved.  Display time for large quantity of 
    WS is shortened substantially.

5. Modeller

(1) Efficiency of "distance calculation" between surfaces and 
   "file output" in "distance@map" command is improved.

6. Parametric

(1) Parametric history command is improved to native style and
    is now regarded as a parametric operations history edition commands 
    It is available to initiate parametric operations history edition 
    commands from the parametric history pallet.
(2) "angle of 2 lines" and "line length " are added into parametric operation/auxiliary
    dimension creation command. 
(3) Parts ASSY/standard parts _ get history command is able to get the history data
    even from the closed OBJ  within that ASSY.
(4) Warning message will be displayed when dimension value of relational expression is
    negative while reconstruction. 

7. Sketch

- When defining the sketch line or circle/arc, if you indicate 
    existing shape while pushing the "Ctrl" key, the position you indicated
    will be regarded as an end point. 

8. Drafting

(1) Consecutive dimension definition is now available. 
(2) While edit dimension, it is possible to change the target only by indicating the 
    new target dimension.
(3) Modified "character size" and "the number of decimal point" are 
    reflected on dimension by pushing "application" button newly provided.

9. CAM-MANAGER

(1) New command machining design support/area curve creation
    command is now available. 
(2) New command machining process design/corner residual area automatic determination
    command is now available.
(3) Disjoint tolerance between surfaces is possible to input in the new scan process.

10. 3DNC

(1) New machining method to machine planar portion of contour
    profile by along surface machining or by scan machining is added
    to new contour/new contour residual. 
(2) Indication of a sectional curve for defining the layer pitch is added to new
    contour/new contour profile. 
(3) Intermediate machining is added and machining sequence is improved from height
    oriented to shape oriented in new contour/new contour offset. 

11. Data exchange

(1) Parasolid file of binary type is added as a new exchange 
    target in C/UG DirectTranslator

2. MoldDesign for CADCEUS V6.4

Category

Capabilities

1. new function for collective operation

- Placement, move, copy of two or more parts such as slide and loose core 
  at a time is now available. 

2. new command for slide and loose core

- It is now possible to display locations of two or more loose cores after
  movement with simple operation, which eases loose core confirmation of
  intended movement. The same thing is available also for slides.

3. enhancements of drafting

- There are significant enhancements such as 4 sided view creation
  including fixed plates and movable plates, attachment of hole list and
  parts list to part drawing or assembly drawing, a drawing for two or more
  small scale parts, etc.

4. advanced capability for electrode

- Many new functions such as material placement, head shape creation,
  specific attribute set/change, various information output are provided.

5. new function for FUTABA MOLD BASE interface

- It is possible to input up-to-date FATABA mold base.

3. PressDesign for CADCEUS V6.4

Category

Capabilities

1. Check of machining limit

- Expanded the target to hole, wall and plate + wall. 
- Tool type other than ball end mill such as drill, flat end mill, radius
  cutter, tapered flat end mill and tapered ball end mill are now available.
- The following five commands are added.
 Tool definition
 Tool movement display
 Machining limit check(simplified version)
 Machining limit check(detailed version)
 Confirmation of check results

2. 3D annotation

- Creation of a 3D annotation with hyper link is now available.
  By indicating 3D annotation with hyper link, it is possible to open linked address. 
  For example, if extension is 'html', Web browser will be initiated.
